Use the facts from an AI tool

Still Current serves its public facts over the Model Context Protocol (MCP). Any MCP client can read them. It is read-only: there is nothing to sign in to, and the endpoint keeps nothing your assistant sends.

The endpoint

Streamable HTTP, one JSON response per request, no sessions and no sign-in.

MCP endpoint
https://stillcurrent.app/mcp

Every result is reference only: matched to a public source page and not confirmed by the agency. Each record carries a line telling the user to confirm with the jail. Confirm with the source before you act.

Setup

Claude Code

Run this once in a terminal.

Terminal
claude mcp add --transport http still-current https://stillcurrent.app/mcp

Claude Desktop and claude.ai

Open Settings, then Connectors, then add a custom connector. Name it Still Current and paste the endpoint as its URL. There is no sign-in to configure.

Connector URL
https://stillcurrent.app/mcp

Cursor

Add this to ~/.cursor/mcp.json, or to .cursor/mcp.json in a project.

mcp.json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "still-current": {
      "url": "https://stillcurrent.app/mcp"
    }
  }
}

Any other MCP client

Use the Streamable HTTP transport with the endpoint above. Many clients take a config like this one; the key names vary by client.

Generic client config
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "still-current": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://stillcurrent.app/mcp"
    }
  }
}

Test it with curl

No client needed. This lists the tools, then searches for bond hours.

Terminal
curl -s https://stillcurrent.app/mcp \
  -H 'Content-Type: application/json' \
  -H 'Accept: application/json, text/event-stream' \
  -d '{"jsonrpc":"2.0","id":1,"method":"tools/list"}'

curl -s https://stillcurrent.app/mcp \
  -H 'Content-Type: application/json' \
  -H 'Accept: application/json, text/event-stream' \
  -d '{"jsonrpc":"2.0","id":2,"method":"tools/call","params":{"name":"search_public_facts","arguments":{"query":"bond"}}}'

Run it locally over stdio

The same server also runs as a local process with no network access, from a copy of the project source. The source is not public yet.

Terminal
node scripts/mcp/still-current-mcp.mjs

The three tools

All three are marked read-only and reject arguments they do not know. None of them writes, confirms, publishes or contacts a source.

  • search_public_facts: searches fresh facts by words in the title, organization, facility or answer. Optional limit.

  • get_public_fact: one fresh fact by its id, with the source's own sentences that back it.

  • get_registry_status: the jurisdiction, when the snapshot was made, how many facts are fresh, and which are withheld and why.

Every record comes back with status: "reference_only", verification_mark: null, the source link, the check date and a basis line that ends “not confirmed by the agency”. Facts older than 7 days are withheld, not guessed.

Discovery files: llms.txt, the MCP server card and /.well-known/ai-catalog.json.
