How a fact gets checked

A fact is shown only while a recent check matches the official page. Each layer says exactly what it means, and none of them is the agency speaking.

Three layers

  1. Source-matched

An AI reader opens the county's own page and compares the claim with it. The claim matches the page, or it does not.

  2. Cross-checked

A second, independent check must agree with the first. If the checks are older than 7 days, the fact is withheld instead of shown.

  3. Still Current stamp

Optional. A named person confirms the exact wording. Only a person can add the stamp, because it says a named person verified this exact version; AI cannot add it.

No fact carries it yet. No person? The two AI layers still apply.

The withhold clock

Every fact has a clock that starts at its last check. The rule fails closed: when in doubt, the fact is not shown.

  1. Day 0: checkedShown, with its source and check date.
  2. Day 7: the limitLast day it can be shown.
  3. Day 8 on: withheldHidden until a new check.
A fact is also withheld if it is past its review date, or if its check date cannot be read.

A withheld fact is not guessed or carried forward. The same rule runs on this site and in the AI tools: 8 days after a check, a search that returned 5 records returns 0, and the status tool says why (check_age).

The honest scoreboard

How the AI reader did on claims from the Oct 22, 2026 scan, including where it is still wrong.

  • 50 of 95claims read correctly on a second run over the same 95 claims. The first run got 44.Claims from the Oct 22, 2026 scan
  • 6false alarms, down from 12: claims it called different that were not.Claims from the Oct 22, 2026 scan
  • 2 of 12real differences it flagged. It still misses most of them.Claims from the Oct 22, 2026 scan
  • 4claims it still calls a match when they are not.Claims from the Oct 22, 2026 scan
  • 0marks it granted on its own. Only a person can add a mark.Claims from the Oct 22, 2026 scan
  • 17 of 21times the first check alone was right when it said “matches”. When both checks agreed, they were right 6 of 6 times.Oct 22, 2026 test

A small sample. These numbers come from one county and fewer than a hundred claims. They show the direction of the work, not a rate you can rely on, and they are why the second check and the 7-day clock exist.

What it does not claim

  • It does not speak for any agency. Facts are not verified by the agency, and no agency has endorsed this project.
  • When two pages disagree, it does not say which one is right.
  • It is not legal advice. Confirm with the source before you act.
  • The live checker is a private pilot. This site and the AI endpoint show its published results only.
